A Downside to Video Games

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

One time, not too long ago I played games on video regularly. It’s a fact that it could be said that I was a video game addict. However, it wasn’t long until I started to see that after a little time of on the games for video, my adroitness to think about on real life problems would be impaired to a frightening degree. What’s more, I also found out that I tended to be a lot more grumpy and my tendancy was to be a lot more belligerent towards other people. It seems odd now that this situation didn’t appear to be anything related to the type of game on video I happened to be using, in other words, playing my relatively violence-free video games failed to decrease my aggressive behaviour.

Another worrying problem with wasting my valuable time on video games seemed to be after having played for some time, I would often find myself becoming dull and lethargic when I had ended a session of gaming.

The symptom that concerned me most in the end, was the urge to play more games on video. I began to seejust what having an addiction feels like. Now I am totally satisfied that the games for video I played had gotten a profound grasp on me down to a potentially destructive degree. It had an effect my family, my work and my circle of friends. Looking back now, It is unbelievably difficult to contemplate the terrible state my life had turned into. Fortunately, I had, and still have a supportive and loyal other half who helped me greatly to work out my problems and I emerged from the other side a a more sturdy and enlightened person.

I still indulge my hobby but, after giving myself a set of rules and making sure that I stick to them, I am now a happy gamer.

I believe that individuals who matter, like doctors, moms and dads, partners, school and college staff etc., need to start taking some positive steps to realize and take action about, these very disturbing outcomes of gaming so that they may end this ever-worsening problem from becoming a widespread epidemic.

Video games are an exceptional way to enjoy yourself but need to be played responsibly. Go to New Xbox Games to get hints and ideas on how you can play in a safe way as well as get some fantastic video game bargains.

World of Warcraft Gold Dupe Cheat

Friday, May 23rd, 2008

There is a cheat that people ask me about, that I’ve seen in some other, less scrupulous gold guides. It’s known as the Gold Dupe Cheat.

I’m not going to go into ALL the specifics because I don’t want you to get your account banned. The general idea is that you give all of your gold to a friend to hang on to, then immediately report that your account has been hacked. After getting your account ‘restored’, including the gold you had, you have your friend give the gold back.

This cheat is NOT a good idea for several reasons. First, it’s unethical. You’re lying to Blizzard about your account. If you need to lie in order to get more make-believe gold for your make-believe character…well, let’s just say that reflects poorly on your parents.

Many folks might not care about lying, so let’s mention this: Blizzard ain’t stupid. They can track who you gave the gold to, when you did it, etc. They are well aware of this ‘dupe cheat’, and have the logs of your activity to know what you did. After all…they can manage to get your stuff back to the state before the alleged hack. Blizzard may decide to ban you AND your friend’s account.

It’s just not worth it.

So I recommend avoiding any gold-guides that advertise having the ‘gold-dupe’ cheat.

Paper Saving?

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

I just think that the amount of paper we still use in this “paperless society” is a disgrace!

The amount of junk that comes through my letterbox everyday can probably be multiplied by the number of households in the Northern hemisphere and that’s an awful lot of trees getting chopped down.

That coupled with the rain forests disappearing at a fantastic rate (although I can sort of see why this is happening in some places), poor old Mother Earth doesn’t stand a chance…and neither do we.

I’ve found a new paper sales site where they sell paper from sustainable forests, which I guess is a better way forward than just destroying trees without any thought of the future.
